Bio

Hope Pennington is the Head Athletic Trainer at Texas A&M University–Victoria, bringing a strong academic background and well-rounded clinical experience to Jaguar Athletics. She earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Texas State University after completing her Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology from Ouachita Baptist University. While at Ouachita Baptist, she was recognized with the Exercise Science Major Award and competed as a member of the Tigers’ soccer program.

Pennington developed valuable hands-on experience throughout her academic career, serving as a student athletic trainer at both Ouachita Baptist and Texas State. She also enhanced her clinical training during a summer internship at Mississippi State University, where she worked alongside sports medicine staff in a high-level collegiate athletics environment.

A former student-athlete, Pennington is passionate about combining her love for sports and healthcare while building meaningful relationships with those she serves. Her philosophy on athlete care centers on a holistic approach—addressing not only physical injuries but also the mental and emotional challenges athletes face—while guiding them safely and confidently through the recovery process.

In her role at Texas A&M–Victoria, Pennington oversees the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of injuries for Jaguar student-athletes. She works closely with coaches and athletics staff to promote overall health, wellness, and performance, while fostering an environment built on trust, communication, and long-term athlete development.
