SAN ANTONIO – The hits just didn't fall for the No. 15-ranked UHV baseball team on Tuesday.
The Jaguars fell 8-1 to Our Lady of the Lake at Missions Baseball Academy in a non-conference bout.
Hal Perez delivered UHV's lone hit while Kyle Barosh drove in the only run for the Jaguars (34-10) with a sacrifice fly in the second inning.
Andrew Hurrelbrink set a new career-high for strikeouts, fanning seven across 2.2 innings of relief. The Perth, Australia, native let up just one earned run behind starter Mason Longoria, who suffered his second loss of the season.
Of the eight runs the Jaguars let up, only two of them were earned as the Saints (22-21) capitalized on UHV's three errors while scattering 12 hits.
UHV travels to No. 1-ranked LSU Shreveport (41-0, 24-0) this Friday and Saturday.
