No. 10 A&M-Victoria falls to LSU Alexandria, snapping 14-game winning streak
A&M-Victoria saw its 14-game winning streak come to an end Thursday afternoon with a 7-5 loss to LSU Alexandria at Generals Baseball Field.
The setback snapped the longest winning streak under head coach Jonathan Stavinoha's four-year tenure, as the Jaguars (27-10, 16-3 RRAC) were unable to complete a late comeback after falling behind by five runs in the middle innings. LSU Alexandria improved to 27-10 overall and 15-4 in conference play.
A&M-Victoria was limited to six hits on the day but showed resilience with a four-run rally in the seventh inning that brought the tying run to the plate before the Generals answered in the bottom half.

Momentum swung decisively in the fifth as LSU Alexandria's Dalton Wilson delivered the game's biggest blow, launching a grand slam to right field for a 6-1 Generals advantage.
A&M-Victoria mounted its comeback attempt in the seventh. Jackson Purcell opened the rally with an RBI double, followed by runs scored on bases-loaded walks from Antonio Benitez and Connor Kaiser and a wild pitch. The four-run inning trimmed the deficit to 6-5 and forced a pitching change.
LSU Alexandria responded immediately in the bottom of the seventh with a sacrifice fly by Trevor Dooley to restore a two-run cushion.
The Jaguars put runners aboard in both the eighth and ninth innings but were unable to push across another run as LSU Alexandria closer Nash Tamplet closed out the game.
