Bio
Doug Heinold begins his 19th season as the Jaguars’ Assistant Coach. He has been a part of the Texas A&M University-Victoria Baseball Program since its inaugural season in 2008.
Coming off the 2014 season, pitcher Andre Del Bosque earned A.i.i. Conference Pitcher of the Year honors. Heinold’s work as pitching coach saw Del Bosque and Brady Parker (2025) become the first two MLB Draft picks from A&M-Victoria.
In 2009, Heinold helped pitchers Austin Hitt and Ray Maldonado earn all-conference awards, and Maldonado was named a second team All-American. In 2010, pitcher Broc Haymon was the NAIA’s earned run leader, as well as an all-conference selection, and in 2011, he was named the A.i.i. Conference Pitcher of the Year.
Heinold was a first-round draft pick of the New York Yankees in 1973 (drafted 13th overall) following a standout high school career at Stroman High School. He worked his way up to play AAA baseball and held a 40-man roster spot in the Yankees organization before an arm injury cut his career short.
