Bio

Watson is in his first year as an assistant coach at Texas A&M University-Victoria.

Watson comes to Victoria with over a decade of coaching experience, most recently as head coach for Madison Highland Prep High School and Justice College (NCCAA) in his hometown of Phoenix.

During a 10-year stint as the boy’s and girl’s head coach at Highland Prep, Watson earned CAA Coach of the Year honors in 2018 and 2019, and AIA Coach of the Year honors in 2023.

He was also an assistant with NAIA school Ottawa University (AZ) for two seasons prior to Highland Prep and Justice College. Watson also spent time coaching in the club ranks in Arizona.

Watson graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History (2013) and Master’s degree (2014) in Secondary Education from Arizona State, where he played on the club soccer team. He received a second Master’s degree in Pedagogy and Coaching Education (2021) from Ohio University.

He holds a USSF Class C License and is in the process of earning his Class B License.
