(RV) Softball announces 2025 schedule

On Wednesday, the UHV softball team announced its 2025 schedule.

The Jaguars (33-17 in 2024) are scheduled to play 47 games this season as they chase their seventh conference title and, hopefully, a second trip to the NAIA Softball World Series in May.

UHV, which reached the NAIA Tournament for the ninth time in program history last year, opens its season with four games at the LSU Alexandria/Louisiana Christian Tournament Jan. 31-Feb.1. The Jaguars open the tournament vs. Webber International at 3:30 and then Central Baptist at 6 p.m. They close the tournament on Feb. 1 vs. William Woods and Central Christian at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., respectively.

The Jaguars open up their slate of 22 home games on Feb. 11 with a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Missouri Baptist at the Victoria Youth Sports Complex. That starts a six-game homestand with doubleheaders against NCAA Division III schools Schreiner University and Hardin-Simmons on Feb. 12 and 15, respectively.

UHV opens Red River Athletic Conference play at home on Feb. 22 against Huston-Tillotson. The Jaguars will close the regular season at home on April 18 against University of the Southwest.

The Jaguars' schedule will feature a minimum of three ranked opponents against No. 24 Baker University, on Feb. 8, No. 1 and defending national champion Our Lady of the Lake and No. 21 LSU Alexandria. UHV is scheduled to play in the Gulf Coast Invitational March 7-9, a tournament where it faced three ranked opponents last year.

UHV returns NAIA All-American first team selection Kenzie Chambers, NFCA All-American Claire Blinka and NFCA All-Region I second team honoree Kaylle Lopez. All-RRAC second team first baseman Allison Snedeker also returns for the Jaguars this year.
