Blinka named to All-RRAC First Team, seven Jags honored in All-RRAC Softball awards
PINEVILLE, La. – Seven UHV softball players received All-Conference recognition on Wednesday at the Red River Athletic Conference banquet on the campus of Louisiana Christian University.
Senior first baseman Claire Blinka took home the highest honor for the Jaguars (27-19), earning First Team honors.
The Port Lavaca native slashed .443 in the regular season with 12 home runs and 46 RBIs. Her 12 home runs lead the conference. Blinka is on a seven-game hitting streak and has hit a home run in each of the last four games for the Jaguars.
Allison Snedeker, Kenzie Chambers, Alyssa Carter and Audrie Sayas garnered Second Team honors.
Snedeker hit .307 with 20 RBIs and four home runs this season, primarily at third base. This is the second consecutive honor for the Friendswood native. She's on a five-game hitting streak.
Chambers, a 2024 NAIA First Team All-American at catcher, took home her second team award at shortstop where she's primarily featured for UHV this season. Chambers is hitting .377 going into the postseason with 13 RBIs, 33 runs and a team-leading 42 stolen bases.
This is the first postseason recognition for the sophomore, Carter. The Sugar Land native hit .365 in the regular season with 18 RBIs, 22 runs and 12 stolen bases.
Sayas has been a reliable arm for the Jaguars, posting 11 wins this season in 20 starts. She has struck out 63 batters while holding a 3.17 ERA.
Fayth Hoover earned an honorable mention nod as an outfielder after slashing .343 with 15 RBIs in 28 games this season.
Senior pitcher Hope Quinones was named UHV's Champion of Character representative.
The Jaguars are the No. 4 seed in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament and face fifth-seeded Texas A&M-San Antonio in the first round at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday in Pineville.
