A&M-Victoria softball drops final game of series with A&M-San Antonio
The Texas A&M University-Victoria softball team tried to channel more late magic against rival Texas A&M-San Antonio on Saturday.
After tying the game at five in the seventh, A&M-Victoria couldn't find the clutch hit it got in Friday's doubleheader and fell, 8-5 in eight innings, to A&M-San Antonio.
Angelina Morales delivered the game-tying, two-run double in the seventh inning to force extras before A&M-San Antonio plated three runs in the top of the eighth.
A&M-Victoria falls to 12-3 overall and 5-1 in Red River Athletic Conference play.
Top Performances
Morales and Khamryn Werdlow led the way with a pair of RBIs each. Daizie Fuentez was the only other player with an RBI for the Jaguars from Victoria.
A&M-Victoria scattered seven hits with Werdlow, Morales, Fuentez, Alyssa Carter, Cristela Trevino, Sianna Miller and Madison Carr totaling those seven.
Haley Noska went seven innings as the starter for A&M-Victoria, striking out a season-high eight batters. Zoe Hardy suffered just her first loss in seven appearances after coming on in the eighth inning.

After A&M-San Antonio struck first for a 1-0 lead in the third, A&M-Victoria responded in the fourth with an RBI single by Daizie Fuentez.
Khamryn Werdlow gave A&M-Victoria its only lead of the game with a two-run single to make it 3-2.
