Bickelmann finishes Top 5, paces Jags to second place in tri-match

Emmily Bickelmann had another strong round on Tuesday for the UHV women's golf team.

The Weisbaden, Germany, native carded a seven-over 79 to finish T-5th at Victoria Country Club as the Jaguars finished second in their tri-match with NCAA Division I schools Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern.

Texas Southern won the tournament with a team score of 315 (+27). The Jaguars finished second, 17 strokes behind the Tigers after shooting a 332.

Mia Lerma (81) and Cecelia Niemietz (85) tied for second in the field for birdies with two each. Lerma birdied the first and eighth holes at VCC while Niemietz birdied the 11^th and 14^th.

Lerma finished eighth while Niemietz finished 10^th.

Caitlyn Niemietz turned in an 87 to finish 12^th while Kaitlyn Lopez (93) finished 18^th.

Leila Bazan (106), competing as an individual, finished 19^th.

The Jaguars will return to VCC for the UHV Fall Classic Oct. 16-17.
