The Texas A&M University-Victoria women's soccer team saw its season-long six-match unbeaten streak come to an end on Saturday.
The Jaguars fell, 2-0, to LSU Alexandria at The Cage despite a strong second-half push.
Trailing 1-0 at the break following a goal by Alexia Bermejo in the 23rd minute, A&M-Victoria (7-3-4, 4-2-1) out-shot the Generals 10-3 in the second half. But a goal against the run of play by Justice Richardson in the 72nd minute put the game out of reach at 2-0.
Ayloni Garcia led the way with three of A&M-Victoria's 13 shots. Siobhan Scott, Vanessa Bevalian and Jessica Salkeld had two shots each.
Junior goalkeeper Jamie Noriega made five saves against the seven shots she faced in goal.
The Jaguars go on the road Thursday for the first iteration of the newly minted rivalry series The Battle of the Big Cats against Texas A&M-San Antonio.
