A&M-Victoria soccer teams lend assist at Warrior's Weekend Muster
On Friday, March 27, members of the Texas A&M University-Victoria men's and women's soccer teams dedicated their time to a meaningful cause in the Victoria community.
The Jaguars assisted with event setup for the Warrior's Weekend Muster, held at the Victoria Community Center. Warrior's Weekend is a Victoria‑based, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting U.S. military veterans, with an emphasis on those who have been wounded in combat. Founded in 2007, the organization works to provide veterans with both emotional support and unique experiences that promote healing and connection.
The Muster serves as a major fundraising event for Warrior's Weekend, helping support the organization's signature annual fishing weekend held each fall along the Texas coast in Port O'Connor as well as year-round efforts. During the event, combat‑wounded veterans are hosted by volunteer boat captains and community members and treated to a weekend focused on relaxation, camaraderie, and appreciation for their service.
Community support and volunteer efforts, such as those provided by the A&M‑Victoria soccer programs, play a vital role in helping Warrior's Weekend continue its mission of honoring veterans and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.
