SHREVEPORT, La. – The Texas A&M University-Victoria men's soccer team fell in its Red River Athletic Conference opener to No. 14-ranked LSU Shreveport on Thursday.
The Jaguars lost, 3-0, at The Swamp in Shreveport with all goals coming in the second half for the Pilots.
A&M-Victoria falls to 4-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play after suffering just its second shutout loss of the year.
Jervan Matthew led the way for the Jaguars with four shots in Thursday's match. Baillie O'Reilly was the lone other player for A&M-Victoria with multiple attempts with two shots.
Senior goalkeeper Tyler Kaeppeli made six saves in the loss.
The Jaguars are on the road again Saturday to face Louisiana Christian in conference play.
