A late comeback forced the Texas A&M University-Victoria men's soccer team to settle for a draw on Monday.
The Jaguars drew, 2-2, with Our Lady of the Lake at The Cage in Red River Athletic Conference play. The draw moved A&M-Victoria (7-8-2, 3-5-2) into the final playoff spot in the RRAC thanks to the Jaguars owning the head-to-head tiebreaker with University of the Southwest.
A&M-Victoria started hot, with Jacob Anderson swiping home his second goal of the season on a corner kick from Murray Brieley in the 12th minute.
Daniel Menyoli made it 2-0 in the 45th minute on an assist from Baillie O'Reilly. It was Menyoli's first collegiate goal.
Despite out-shooting the Saints (2-10-4, 1-6-2) 13-3 in the second half, the Jaguars couldn't find a third goal, which led to the Saints' comeback in the final nine minutes. A&M-Victoria led in the shots category 23-9.
Daniel Short pulled one back for the visitors in the 82nd minute before Nicolas Murgas equalized three minutes later.
Jervan Matthew and Chris Mendez led the attack for A&M-Victoria with a team-high three shots each.
