METAIRE, Louisiana – A late goal brought an end to the Texas A&M University-Victoria men's soccer season on Thursday in the Red River Athletic Conference Quarterfinals.
The Jaguars, as the six seed, lost to third-seeded Xavier (La.), 1-0, at Lafreniere Park despite holding the Gold Rush offense for 82 minutes.
A&M-Victoria closes the season with an 8-8-2 record.
Xavier broke the deadlock in the 82nd minute on a corner kick. It was one of two shots on goal the Gold Rush managed against A&M-Victoria's defense.
The Jaguars managed two shots on goal from Kei Matsuyama and Chris Mendez.
Thursday marked the end of the collegiate careers for Eric Thust, Baillie O'Reilly, Felipe Rangel and Tyler Kaeppeli.
