Women’s Golf wraps up first day of Jack Brown Memorial Invite
LAREDO – The UHV women's golf team concluded play in the opening round of the Jack Brown Memorial Invite at the Laredo Country Club on Monday.
The Jaguars were in ninth after the first round of the two-day tournament with a team score of 367.
Junior Emmily Bickelmann enters the final round of the tournament one stroke out of the Top 10 following a seven-over 79 in the first round to put her in a tie for 11th. It's the fifth time in seven rounds this year the Weisbaden, Germany, native has carded a score in the 70s.
Senior Mia Lerma carded an opening-round 85 at LCC to sit T-37. The Mission native led the team in birdies (2) in the opening round.
Cecelia Niemietz shot 100 in the opening round while her sister, Caitlyn Niemietz, shot a 103.
Victoria native Laney Glass rounded out UHV's competitors with a 106.
The tournament will finish with the second round on Tuesday.
