Women’s golf makes big improvement in final round of Jack Brown Memorial Invite
LAREDO – The UHV women's golf team shaved 22 strokes to close the Jack Brown Memorial Invite at the Laredo Country Club on Tuesday.
The Jaguars shot a 345 (367-345—712), marking the biggest improvement of the field of primarily NCAA Division II teams.
Junior Emmily Bickelmann and senior Mia Lerma each shot 83 in the final round. Bickelmann (79-83—162) finished T-26 while Lerma (85-83—168) finished T-40.
Cecelia Niemietz saw a 15-stroke improvement in the final round with an 85 on the card.
Laney Glass shot a 94 in the final round, a 12-stroke improvement, and Caitlin Niemietz shot a 98 to round out UHV's scores.
The Jaguars return to action Feb. 26-27 with the Claud Jacobs Invitational at The Club at Colony Creek.
