TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University-Victoria men's soccer team suffered a road loss on Saturday.
The Jaguars fell, 3-1, to Texas A&M-Texarkana at Judy Kelley Morgan Soccer Field. A&M-Victoria falls to 5-5-1 overall and 1-2-1 in Red River Athletic Conference play.
The Eagles opened the scoring in the 16th minute on a goal by Gustavo Mendez before Diego Picano added two goals in the 57th and 63rd minutes.
Baillie O'Reilly pulled one back for the Jaguars in the 75th minute. It's his fourth goal of the year.
Jervan Matthew led the team with four shots, all of which were on goal.
Saturday's loss is the first-ever loss A&M-Victoria has suffered against A&M-Texarkana in 10 total meetings.
A&M-Victoria returns home next week for conference matches against Texas College on Thursday and University of the Southwest on Saturday.
